Why do Yoga?

Yoga is more than flexibility and meditation.

Many people ask... why do yoga?

On a purely physical level, practice of the asanas (postures) increases muscle tone and general vitality. Yoga also rapidly improves circulation, co-ordination and balance.

Yoga practice not only promotes flexibility and skeleto-muscular fitness, it also improves the function of the circulatory, nervous and endocrine systems – offering a truly holistic approach to health and well-being.

Iyengar yoga is not limited to those who are young, fit and flexible. With the use of props, and careful attention to detail, Iyengar yoga can be practiced at any stage of life. Iyengar yoga practices are available to assist those who are infirm, pregnant, menstruating or unwell.
